MMSSTV HELP · CHAPTER 10

Receive History

How MMSSTV temporarily stores received pictures and how to preserve them.

The RX history

MMSSTV stores recently received SSTV pictures in its History window. The original default is 32 images.

The maximum can be changed in: Option → Setup → Misc → History max.

FIFO storage

The history behaves as a first-in, first-out buffer. When the maximum number of stored pictures is exceeded, MMSSTV removes the oldest image.

The history is intended as temporary storage, not as a permanent image archive.

Disk usage

The original documentation estimates approximately 200 KB per stored image and warns that large history settings can consume significant disk space on the computers of that period.

JPEG storage can be enabled from the image right-click menu to reduce disk usage.

Keeping received pictures permanently

To preserve received images, MMSSTV can automatically copy history pictures to another folder.

A history picture can also be dragged manually to the QSL box in the log window. When this is done, MMSSTV records a reference to the picture in the QSL field of the log.

Linking images to QSOs

When automatic copying is enabled, MMSSTV can associate the stored image with its logging information. The image can later be opened from the log using the Image function.
